
Liquorice Allsorts Slice

Pro Tips

Use a mezzaluna if you have one for chopping the liquorice twists to get them into small enough pieces to stir into the icing

I find chopping the liquorice allsorts into quarters is small enough to stir into the slice

The icing will be quite lumpy but I find it adds to the appeal

Ingredients
125g butter
1 tin condensed milk
1 tablespoon golden syrup
250g plain biscuits
½ cup desiccated coconut
375g pack Liquorice Allsorts
Icing
300g cooking chocolate
10 short liquorice twists
How to make it:
Line or grease a slice tin
Process the biscuits in a food processor until they are fine crumbs then transfer to a large heatproof bowl
Chop liquorice allsorts into smaller pieces
Add coconut and liquorice allsorts and mix until combined
Combine the butter, condensed milk and golden syrup in a medium saucepan over low heat
Cook, stirring, for 5 minutes until butter melts and mixture is smooth
Add to biscuit mixture and and mix until just combined
Press the mixture into the slice tin and put in the fridge to set
Melt the cooking chocolate in the microwave then stir in the chopped liquorice
Spread over the slice and return to fridge to set
Once set, cut into squares to serve

Set in the refrigerator then cut into pieces
